San Gil is known as the “Adventure Capital of Santander”. The city is located 38 kilometers from Bucaramanga; and 300 kilometers from Bogota on the Panamerican Highway, making it a favorite destination for many looking for adventure.
In recent years, the most popular tourist attraction in San Gil is the access to the scenarios in which extreme sports can be performed. In the Fonce and Suarez rivers, you can enjoy white water rafting through strong currents in different types of boats. Or, many flock to the cliffs for hang gliding over the gorgeous canyons.
