Time seems to have stopped in Villa de Leyva, a municipality in Boyacá that preserves in its architecture the most authentic samples of the colonial past. The Plaza Mayor of Villa de Leyva is the largest in Colombia and one of the most impressive in South America with its 14 thousand square meters.

Villa de Leyva is known for its colonial architecture and its varied rural landscapes, ranging from the paramo to the desert zone.

Villa de Leyva is ideal to discover history, science, art, culture, and nature all together due to its wide range of attractions.

All tour packages described below are a full day and the price is per person, with a minimum of two persons required and 48 hours minimum advance notice. The guide speaks Spanish with very limited English.

Spanish-speaking guided itinerary as follows:
--Villa de Leyva Paleontological Museum. Located in one of the geographic areas of greatest national interest for its geological, paleontological, and cultural history. Its collection includes more than 441 exhibited specimens and 2425 in the collection.
--Antonio Nariño Museum. This is an ideal space to promote and preserve the history and memory related to the hero Antonio Nariño. The entity assumes, as one of its main tasks, the dissemination of human rights through quality educational and cultural services, aimed at tourists and the community of Villa de Leyva.
--Acuña Musem. Acuña was one of Colombia's most outstanding painters of the twentieth century and one of the few who revisited indigenous themes, endowing them with grandeur and reviving Chibcha mythology. His work is a tribute to our ancestors.

Spanish-speaking guided itinerary as follows:
--Villa de Leyva Saint monument. Once at the top, you can admire the view of the entire province of Alto Ricaurte and Zaquencipá Valley, with its canyons, rivers, valleys, deserts, and hundreds of country houses and agricultural greenhouses that produce tomatoes, gulupa, and onions, among others.
--Pozos Azules (km 2 via Villa de Leyva - Santa Sofia), take the half-hour walk there, enjoy the scenery and take pictures, and then go out to the other sites of interest or try the ATV track.
--A journey along the edge of a small canyon where you will contemplate the northern part of the rural area of Villa de Leyva and you will cross the Cane River that still has crystal clear waters that descend from the heart of the mountain. This is the place where the municipalities of Villa de Leyva and Sáchica get their water supply.

--In Sutamarchán, twelve kilometers from Villa de Leyva, it is possible to learn about the cultivation, harvesting and the entire wine production and aging process at the Marqués de Villa de Leyva vineyard.
--Try local drinks such as guarapo and chicha.
--Within the typical menu we find the arepas, almojábanas, corn wraps and all kinds of snacks. Soups are traditionally a main part of the gastronomy such as corn mazamorra, cuchuco de trigo, mondongo, mute de maíz or mazorca, ajiaco, cazuela boyacense and caldo de costilla among others.
